TESTIMONY

I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.

Psalms 139:14

Simon Chhetri

I was born in 1975 to a non-Christian family in Gulmi, a remote area of Nepal. The family's financial condition was not good, so in October 1992, in search of work, I reached Nagaland and started working as a domestic help. In 1996, through a brother, God gave His call and chose me for His kingdom. In the same year, I was baptised in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

I started having many struggles and challenges in life, due to which I relocated to Siliguri in West Bengal. In 1999, the situation was so bad that I contemplated suicide. I went to a forest to kill myself, but God had different plans and his word stopped me from committing this sin. I even thought that if I slept in the forest at night, some wild animal would kill me or the serpent would bite me. Nothing except a few mosquito bites happened. The next morning, I got up and went to the truck stand in search of work. I started working as a truck cleaner and started learning to drive.

From there, in January 2002, I started working at the BTCP Training Centre and in December 2005, I got married. Today God has blessed me with two children. I am currently working in a private company as a driver. And my God who is faithful, is driving my life beautifully. In the lack and in surplus, His grace is sufficient. The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want (Psalms 23:1)
